Great post Cathy. I love how you consistently show up for your self and your writing, and your reflections on the world. I too have a 'push/pull' relationship with the FLF. There are so many layers to our relationships with our writing and the writing world, and ourselves.
I love these reflections so much and relate to the feels, the FOMO, the exhilaration of being an author in the green room, the vibe and the buzz. It was wonderful to read the then/now interjections.
Yay! I’ve been longing for a post from you and here it is. As someone who has never been to the FLF (shhh, our lil secret), I found this a very helpful window. Thank you for sharing. See you and your churlish pen on Tuesday. Somehow we’ll keep eking out a word or two despite ourselves and who knows, one of these days it might feel easier….
Thanks for the shout out Cathy! So kind of you. And was glad I got to meet you in the flesh at the festival however briefly XXX
Yes, ditto! Looking forward to getting more of your bookie news when it's time!
Yoh, this is so good. And now I HAVE to go next year. Thanks for the push.
Yes! We can do a Book Bitch weekend!

Thanks Kerry, that's a beautifully expressed reflection.

Thanks for reading, Terry!

'you and your churlish pen' - exactly this!! And yes, we hold on to the hope that, at some stage, it will flow a bit more freely.
